Monthly Temperature Outlook: July 2018

For July 2018, the combined outlook of the two models ECMWF (Figure 1) and UK Met Office (Figure 2) surveyed indicated mainly near-average conditions for most of the Southeast Asia region, with some possibility of below-average temperature forecast for southern coastal parts of Java, Indonesia. The model skill of the two models ECMWF (Figure 4) and UK Met Office (Figure 5) is generally good against ERA Interim for most parts of Southeast Asia, except for the parts of Borneo.
Based on the NCEP CFSv2 model, above-average temperatures are predicted for northern Mainland Southeast Asia, Borneo and the eastern Maritime Continent (Figure 3).
